I’ve asked for RMA at the shop, where I bought it last year. I’m waiting for them to get back to me.
It is not possible to run the chip at the promised speeds, even with watercooling. The chip runs hot right away, when stress testing. Both Windows and Linux will become highly unstable and/or freeze.
For now I’ve configured the following values:
(Intel Core i7-13700K – bought in May of 2023)
P-Core: multi. 49 (4.9 GHz)
E-Core: multi 39 (3.9 GHz)
Ring bus multi.: Auto
VRM core voltage: 1.3V (results in ca. 1.45V under load: ycruncher stresstest)
Undervolting protection: Enabled
PL1=253W (seems to be ingnored)
PL2=253W (seems to be ingnored)
Maximum current: 307A
Mainboard specific settings:
VRM power profile: extreme
Interestingly, the power draw fell below 150W wenn running a stress test with ycruncher under Windows 11. The system appears “stable” for now.
